Quartz is also known as "engineered stone" and is made of 93% of quartz and 7% resin and pigments. It is uniform in color, pattern and texture thus making a great surface choice for countertops. Another great advantage of quartz countertop is its durability (quartz is much stronger than granite), stain and heat resistance and the fact that it doesn't require special maintenance. Unlike granite, it doesn't have to be sealed.
